1972 Pontiac LeMans Convertible" Silver In the early seventies the gas crisis was getting out of hand and the insurance companies were cracking down on muscle cars by handing down hefty insurance bills. To make matters worse, the GTO guy could not even get a convertible in 1972 on his beloved GTO. Pontiac answered these challenges with their $41 nose job on the LeMans Sport Convertible. This made the LeMans look like the GTO, but with a lower LeMans insurance premium. You still got the scooped hood, louvered front fenders, recessed grille, and Endura front bumper. By choosing a few GTO performance options on the LeMans Sport Convertible, like the 455 HO and the WW5 option package, you got a GTO in disguise. LTD Edition
