Turbo Offy Engine In ‘65 the Offys dominance was coming to an end thanks to the Ford four-cam V-8 engines. Following a horrific crash at the ’64 Indianapolis race, requirements changed regarding the type of fuel to be used and how much could be carried by cars. Gas was outlawed and the new fuel of choice was Methonal. Considering these changes, Offy builders labored to find a way to push the Offy for more power. Finally after many prototypes the turbo Offy engine was born. This engine had enormous horsepower for a small displacement engine and all but dominated any race it ran in. Now you can remember the days when racing was about the men and their machines with this 1:6 scale Turbo Offy engine. This replica features a meticulously detailed engine with transmission and turbo.
